Updates and changes

We finally moved to Slaton and have gotten situated. We have been here nearly a month now. That seems so crazy to say!! We will have to move again in a few months to a more permanent location. We are grateful to our friends who were kind enough to let us stay here while we finish paying out our lease in Odessa. We are anxious to find a new home before Keagan comes. We are patiently praying God leads us to the right one. We are only 11 weeks out til Keagan arrives and I am starting to get tired more easily. I am not feeling too bad otherwise. We meet our new baby dr. and have a sono on Wednesday and I am so excited to see my lil man again. Tim is working out of town alot this month and I really hate it. I don't do well with out him. Sure hope Keagan doesn't decide to come early!


Kaleb has dental surgery Thursday in Amarillo and we both aren't looking forward to it but he really needs it to get rid of the infection in his gums. At least it is at my mom's work and performed by a dentist my mom has known forever and trusts.

We started school early this year (today actually) to be able to take time off when Keagan is born. I don't want to get behind and this will give us a chance to get a good routine started with the baby.

Tim and I will celebrate our 10 year anniversary on the 26th of this month. I can't believe it has been that long. He is such a good husband and I couldn't have asked God for a better man! Hopefully we will be able to do something fun to celebrate the day.

Party, Party, Party.....

The month of July is always fun...the kids birthdays are 9 days apart. We always make a big deal on their actual birth date and then have a big nice party for the both of them. Kami turned 6 this year and Kaleb turned 8. We had a sleepover in Odessa for the kids birthday before we left. They each had one friend over and we ate pizza and rented movies. Then I took them to see Karate Kid the next day. We were suppose to eat Olive Garden for lunch after but poor lil Kami got sick in the theater and I had to take their friends home.


Then we moved here to Slaton and we had a birthday party at CiCi's with a handful of good friends. It was a nice, low key birthday party this year. Their actual birthdays were just as fun. We always let them pick something special breakfast that we don't eat very often and a nice restaurant for lunch. Kami had blueberry muffins and Olive Garden and Kaleb choose cinnamon rolls and Caboose. They both got a lot of really nice gifts this year too. We really did have a good birthday year this year.

Moving......AGAIN

Yes, we are moving again, but I couldn't be more thrilled! We are moving back to Lubbock and that is where we truly want to be. I think it's a good place to raise a family and it is very close to all our friends and family. And, that is so important to me with baby Keagan coming in October. Tim has gone ahead to Lubbock to work and he will be back for us on July 9. I have been packing a little each day in hopes of not getting overwhelmed. I am slowly getting there. People say I should be a pro by now, but it's been a little harder since I am pregnant. My dad and step-mom will be here this coming Thursday night to help finish any packing and to load the truck on Friday. I am so grateful to have help moving since I am nearly worthless at 6 months pregnant! We are also very blessed to have friends letting us live in their trailor until our lease is up here at the apartment. That will help us out tremendously. I am getting very anxious about the move and the timing of Keagan's birth. I want to be in a house and somewhat settled before he arrives.

I am a little sad to say goodbye to my friends here. God has always provided at least one woman who I can really admire and look up too. She has really helped me alot this last year we lived in Odessa. My kids are super excited to get back to Lubbock to their friends and our really great church family. Kaleb was actually baptized in this church before we moved. I can't wait to just get there and get settled in. I feel like maybe this time I can unpack and enjoy our time here without waiting for "that" phone call!

Crazy but good day!

Today my sweet Kami got her ears pierced!! I have been trying to talk her into it for some time and today was that special day. She was so brave! She never hesitated or cried. She picked a simple little diamond and sat there so patiently. I am just so proud of her. Then as we walked through the mall, Kaleb helped a gentlemen who spilt a whole box of straws in the floor clean them up. He was rewarded by the mall security who watch for special kid helpers doing good deeds. I was so proud of him today too! The crazy part of our day was waiting an additional 1 1/2 to get Tim's wisdom teeth pulled. They were so far behind that we nearly canceled, but if we had we wouldn't have been able to experience these other two neat experiences above.

Big News

Thursday we had our 20 week sonogram to see how the baby was growing and see if we could find out the sex. I drank a coke to prepare my little darling for the show, hoping it would help. I was so excited to find out and to make sure that the baby was healthy. She took all her measurements and confirmed that the baby was right on track and looked great. The kids were just as anxious as me and kept asking if she knew yet. She worked her way down and the baby was sitting with his ankles crossed and the cord between his legs. He waved at us and took a big drink of the fluid, but didn't feel the need to show us what he was yet. Thankfully our songrapher was a VERY patient woman. She said go use the restroom and jump around a little. I did and rubbed my tummy and layed back down. And finally, the sweet lil baby moved just enough for us to see his man goods! Yay!! We are having a boy!


Tim and I are so excited just to finally know. I have already gone shopping for a few blue outfits. The kids were so proud to know they were having a brother too. Kami is especially excited! She can't wait to be a big sister. And, big brother Kaleb has plans for our little guy to play baseball just like him. Now we just patiently wait for his arrival and thank God for such an awesome blessing!!

Creative....

Our daughter, Kami, is sooo creative. She has the best imagination. I never know what she is going to come up with next. She is always inventing things and pretending to be animals. She loves to think outside the box and it makes me proud of her. Even the things she says are very imaginative. Most of her creativity comes in the form of dress-up though. She is also very into painting and making things with playtoh. I wanted to post a few pictures of some of her best dress-up ideas. The top picture is her Halloween costume from last year. She picked a knight costume all by herself and played with it well past Halloween. The next picture is of her with a back scratcher tucked in her shirt because she was a ninja that day. The next one is of her with gloves on her feet because she is a bird! And the last one is of her riding a horse and swinging her rope because she is a cowgirl!

Adams' Family Vacation 2010

Let me start by saying, we had the best vacation this year and didn't want to come home. Join me as I tell you about our adventures! We patiently counted down the days until we left. It took us almost an entire day to pack everything we would need for our trip. The day finally arrived for us to head out of town....and Kami started throwing up. Yikes!! She threw up twice while getting ready to leave. We were determined not to let this ruin our trip or even delay us. We loaded a small trash can with several bags just in case. After lots of prayers, we got on the road. Thankfully, she didn't throw up again. We arrived in Austin Friday afternoon and we didn't slow down. We met Tim's mom and dad at Chuy's. (I love that place!) We made a pit stop at Academy for beach hats and sandals. Then, Nancy, Kami and I went for a pedicure so we would have pretty feet at the beach! We enjoyed pizza for dinner and watched Sherlock Holmes. The next day, Tim was anxious to take Louis' motorcycle out for a ride. Kami, being my adventurous child wanted to go. They put their helmets on and went out for a ride. I was praying the entire time and tried not to have a nervous break down when they didn't come back for a while. But to my dismay, they had an accident. Tim had skid thru some rocks turning and layed the bike on its side. Only by the grace of God did Kami only return home with one tiny scratch. On the other hand, Tim was pretty banged up. He hurt his shoulder protecting Kami and had several deep cuts and scrapes. I am just so thankful to God it wasn't any worse.

We loaded up shortly after the incident and began our drive to Port Aransas. The closer we got the more anxious we all became. The kids had never seen the beach so this was an exciting trip for them. We finally made it to the line to load the ferry. We had to wait about 30 minutes to cross, but we all knew that meant we were that much closer!

We finally made it to the condo and settled in. We couldn't hardly wait to go down to the beach and walk thru the water. Well, walking in the water turned into playing in the water and we had a great afternoon splashing in the sea.

After realizing the water was salt water the kids decided they wanted to go try out the pool. This place had it all! We had a double pool and the ocean was just across the bridge from our condo.


Needless to say, we had a great first day at the beach. Day # 2 was no disappointment either. We got up early and went for a barefooted walk along the beach and enjoyed finding sea shells. We had a little Adams' family church service and thanked God for a wonderful place to vacation. Later, we went to the souvenir shops and found some great things to take home to remember our trip.


Grandpa Louis and Grandma Nancy arrived later that day. We all went down and enjoyed playing in the sand and the ocean. Tim got a major sunburn that day! And, we had to drag Grandpa Louis out of the water. He would go so far out we could barely see him between waves!





Monday we went to the Texas State Aquarium. That is such a neat place to visit. We all learned so much while we were there. First thing we saw was the dolphin show and they drenched us. Of course we were sitting in the first row. We got to pet the sting rays, learn about alligators and sea turtles, and see a fish feeding show. We really enjoyed our time there.





Of course when we got home, we all had to go play in the ocean again. We really enjoyed playing in the water and splashing around. We found several dead jelly fish and Portugese Man of War lying up on the beach near where we were swimming. I just tried not to think about them ever have living in the water I was just swimming in!


Wednesday was time to head our seperate ways. That meant Nancy and Louis would be taking Kaleb and Kami back to Austin for a few days while Tim and I spent time together in San Antonio for an early 10 year anniversary. I was excited and sad at the same time. I have never really been a part from my kids for very long. So this was a little hard for me at first, but I knew the Vidottos had such a fun time planned for the kids that they would be fine. Tim and I stayed in a bed in breakfast just a few blocks from the River Walk. It was such a neat and beautiful place to stay. We enjoyed our first night there by watching 2 movies in a row. It was great not having to worry about getting home to the babysitter! The next day, we spent lots of time on the River walk. We did the boat tour and then walked to the Alamo. We finished the day at the Wax Museum and Guiness Book of World Records Museum. We ate at 2 places neither of us had eaten at before while on the River Walk. We had Rain Forest Cafe for lunch (which the kids would of LOVED!)and the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. We also saw a group of historic houses that were being restored that were absolutely amazing. We visited the Pioneer Flour Factory and Restaraunt for breakfast the next day and headed back to Austin. We made a pit stop in San Marcos for some shopping. I had to hit the Carter store and buy something for the baby!





We are excited to get back and see the kids. I missed their hugs and kisses. We heard about all the fun things they did and how Kaleb almost beat Grandpa Louis at chess. They actually stayed in Port Aransas a little longer than we did that day. They stayed to feed the sea gulls and play at the point. They visited a miniture horse farm on Thursday and got to brush the horses and donkeys. They even tried to play their own version of minute to win it with Grandpa. They really enjoyed spending time with the grandparents which totally warmed my heart.




Saturday, Tim and Kaleb went and played golf while Nancy, Kami and I went into Austin and enjoyed lunch at Frootz. (Best smoothies EVER!)We walked around the farmers market, hit a few really good garage sales and saw where Nancy's new job was at. Sunday we said our good-byes and headed home. We now had to get unpacked and rested up for our new week. Which was hard to get back on track. But, we all agreed that when the baby is a little bigger we would definately make the beach trip again!
